There was a young maid in a shoe
Who didn’t know just what to do.
She went several places
They undid her laces.
And children soon lived in it too!

Oh my, that is too funny! Love it 🙂
Good one! Perfect meter, good rhyme, funny punchline.
I hope you’ll consider participating in my weekly Limerick-Offs!
Nice job!
Once, a blogger on PoetryTech
Logged a verse in a tight limerick:
And the poem, quite a beaut,
Mother Goose, a reboot
Like J. Abrams’ twist on Star Trek.
Ah, what a nice bit of fairy tale
Those stories that never grow stale
I like the little riding hood
(But only a red one is good)
Unless you’re in a gingerbread house with ale
Oh my gosh you’re just all too too much.
It seems limericks come in a bunch.
But the usual catch
Is they’re all about sex,
And at my age I’m more about lunch.
Nice, this would have also fit well into the fairy tale prompt last weekend at dVerse.
haha…nice play on the nursery rhyme…bet she was glad to get out after being stuck inside with all the kids for so long…smiles.
