Levels of Abstraction

Is This Glass Half Empty, Half Full, or Twice as Large as it Needs to Be?

is the question on a Volvo passing me at ninety,
while I’m running at the speed limit,
tailgated by a truck with a cross on the rear-view.

The Volvo also tells me, quickly, that the owner’s son
Is an Honor Student at Something Middle School,
something impressive, I’m sure, but the tailgater

has passed me, showing that he
Stands Up for something
and Yeah, it’s Got a Hemi.

We’re all three doing philosophy
at different levels, I suppose,
my bumper blank of opinion.

  1. and even blank yours spins philosophy…cool capture…not a fan of the honor roll stickers, i will be honest…and hope that truck lays off so you have a bumper…if you decide to ever put one one it…smiles.

  2. yes – all of you are doing philosophy… i think everyone does without realizing – be it by putting bumper stickers on his car or just by driving a specific car brand

  3. very thought-provocative in philosophical measures.
as such, I think its good and I like it.
what’s better, as your reader, I understand it.

3 vistas shown…both in the title and in the body.

    thanks for sharing.
